Levi's Vintage Clothing 1950's 701 are the first five-pocket jeans made for women. The original jeans were introduced in 1939 in a "dude ranch" photo shoot for the Vogue magazine. This early version of the 701 had a buckle on the back, curved upper and wide, straight legs, just like the 501 had at that time. In the 1950s, the back cover had been removed, but they still had the distinctive fit with the high waist. To be true to the original, we made these jeans with the signature selvedge sewing in pink instead of the traditional red. We have given them a Talon zipper ?? the original zipper, which has been produced since 1893.
